Court Pressure washing: The work will be done on Thurs/Friday MARCH 30th/31st. After the washing, the courts should be available after 5:30 PM on both days.

On Weds/Thurs/Friday APRIL 26th/27th/28th our floodlights will be upgraded to LEDs. There will be a Cherry Picker on the court so no play will be possible on those days.

Please will session organisers bear these dates in mind. Apologies for any disruptions, but this will be a good upgrade to our facilities. 

Also, Thurs May 4th is elections day. SPACE will be a polling station. So best to park elsewhere on that day. 

Sean our coach will run a series of Juniors' tennis camps during theEaster Holidays from 5th to 15th April. Please contact him at bookham@zingtennis.co.uk for further details and to make bookings. 

These will be run on:  

Tuesdays 1pm – 4pm, Thursdays  9am - 12pm, Fridays  1pm – 4pm.

Note that this leaves Tuesdays and Fridays from 4pm available for general play during the holiday period.

The good news is that tennis is back at Bookham Tennis Club from Monday 29th March. The courts will be cleaned in the preceding week.

Playing doubles on each court between any four members of Bookham Tennis Club will be possible. One set of balls may be used. The Rule of Six does not apply to Bookham tennis for organised sessions. Tennis coaching will also continue as before. Social tennis will be subject to the Rule of Six.

In line with the LTA's guidance (links at the bottom), the restrictions at BTC will continue to be:

- Hand sanitiser is available at the courts, but cannot be guaranteed. Bring your own if concerned.

- Continue to observe social distancing before, during and after games. No social gatherings are allowed. Thorough hand washing should be done afterwards.

- Juniors must be supervised by a responsible adult throughout their play.

- No indoor facilities may be used apart from toilets if really necessary. Players must come already changed for play.

Both BTC courts will be available. Outer SPACE will also be available if not otherwise in use. The net and posts are in the box up there. If someone is waiting, please limit your total time on court to 50 minutes. Let those waiting know when you'll be finished. Anyone waiting should stay at a safe distance.

Playing doubles on each court between any four members of Bookham Tennis Club is now possible. One set of balls may be used. The latest Rule of Six does not apply to Bookham tennis for organised sessions. Tennis coaching will also continue as normal. Social tennis will be subject to the Rule of Six.

CORONAVIRUS GUIDELINES AT BOOKHAM TENNIS CLUB

Dear BTC members, 
I hope you are well and safe.
The Government have today indicated that they won’t be allowing outdoor tennis courts to open in England during the period of the new national restrictions that come into force from Thursday (5th November). Under guidance from the LTA we are closing Bookham Tennis courts completely. Even family members are not allowed to play together. We regret this greatly, and will start up again as soon as we are able. The LTA is lobbying the government for at least singles and family play to resume.

- Juniors must be supervised by an adult throughout their play.
- If playing doubles come to an arrangement as to who will go for shots down the middle of the court.
